Philosophy

The Upper School (US) consists of grades 9-12. PCA offers a rigorous college preparatory education in a Christ-centered environment that is respectful and personally challenging.

The Academy provides students with a broad based college preparatory curriculum grounded in a Christian worldview.  Critical thinking skills are emphasized; students are encouraged to apply these skills in all subject areas and to use them to explore the fundamental questions of life’s purpose, personal responsibility and faith.

The School
Portsmouth Christian Academy is a regional, independent, non-denominational private school with a total enrollment of approximately 700 students (pre-school through grade 12). The Upper School opened in the fall of 1995 with a freshman and sophomore class. The  Academy added a junior class in 1996 and a senior class in 1997. Approximately 200 students are currently enrolled in the Upper School, which is situated on a beautiful 50-acre campus alongside the Bellamy River in Dover, New Hampshire.

PCA opened two new Upper School academic buildings and a secondary gymnasium in the fall of 2003 to accommodate an eventual student body of 500. The Upper School earned  accreditation (NEASC)  in the fall of 2005.
