Mathematics

Students of math at PCA learn to complete problems, but also learn to be proficient mathematicians, using conditional as well as procedural knowledge. Course offerings in math are designed to help students maximize their intellectual ability as they gain understanding of the order and pattern shown in God’s creation.

Students must take Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2.  Those students who wish to continue a study of math may take Pre-calculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus, along with Probability and Statistics or another math elective.  Support provided through math teachers and the math lab, enables persistent students to be successful.

PCA’s math team engages in interscholastic competition against schools in the seacoast region and the state of New Hampshire.  PCA’s team has been the league champions for four years straight and won the 2008 state class “S” championship to earn the right to compete for the New England meet.
