Foreign Language

Students at Portsmouth Christian Academy must take two years of a foreign language and may select Spanish or French.  For students who seek greater proficiency, they may continue their study into advanced offerings, concluding with AP courses.

Students gain proficiency in their selected foreign language through varied presentations, discussion, coached project presentation, and writing.  They give evidence of their proficiency through multiple methods of assessment.  As a part of the foreign language and Bible programs, students may participate in a mission trip or a cultural awareness trip to a foreign country (alternating years), allowing students to use their new language skills, experience travel, and appreciate different cultures.
