Theatre

“All the world’s a stage…”  Well, at least this corner of it is.

Enjoy a romp through Shakespeare with PCA’s upcoming theatrical production, “Much Ado about Will” Thursday-Saturday, May 6-8, 2010 at 7:00 PM on the PCA gym stage!  All students and families are encouraged to attend.  The play, featuring 20 talented high school and junior high students, is a celebration of some of Shakespeare’s most famous words, characters and scenes.  You’ll enjoy lots of humor, adventure, romance, suspense and tragedy in famous plays that cover themes such as mistaken identity, murder, love and war. It’s a great introduction for those new to Shakespeare and an adventure for those familiar with his works.  For more information, please contact Grace Thorsen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Students at PCA have the opportunity to participate in two full-length productions each year.  In recent years productions have include musicals such as Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Music Man.  Comedies have been common fare as well with productions of Murder is Bad, but Monday will Kill You and Four Way: The Town that Time Forgot.

Beginning in the 2009-10 school year, the school is expanding the opportunities in theatre with programs for students from Kindergarten through grade 12.  For grades K-5 this will mean a chance to become acquainted with theatre, production, movement and dance through offerings in the Kaleidoscope program.  Junior high and Upper School students will both be welcome to audition for parts in the regular productions.

Theatre gives an opportunity to say something about the world – to reflect the world for the way the world really is and thereby create opportunities for speaking biblical truth into it.
