Message from the PE teacher!
Once again on the last day of school, we will all partnering together to run a mile. It is one of my favorite activities of the year. I love seeing reading buddies partnering together to move efficiently and harmoniously, watching the older students encourage the younger, and everyone moving in heart healthy exercise. It does this PE teacher’s heart good to take in that scene.
Even more awesome is watching the students put their faith to action. A favorite hymn of mine sums up my desires for the students to wholly love the Lord and use their bodies to glorify Him. A few of the lyrics which give us our theme for the fun run this year are: “Take my life and let it be consecrated Lord to Thee. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful to Thee.” It is incredible to see them feel burdened to bless others in simple and eternal ways. Our theme verse Proverbs 4:23 comes to life as we watch God’s love come from their own hearts to meet some tangible needs of children in Africa.
We are collaborating with World Vision to sponsor a few of their educational projects to help World Vision’s motto of “building a better world for children” come to fruition and more importantly sharing the Gospel allowing for God’s name to be known and praised throughout the nations. The projects aren’t costly, but the life lessons of how to be grateful and how to look to the interests of others first are priceless. As God has been faithful and blessed us as a school, in return we give back a portion to bless a hurting world around us. May God be glorified through the moving of our feet and the giving of our hearts and means.
Come run/walk with us!
We are looking for a few people to donate bottled water to quench the thirst of our healthy students after they run. If you are interested in helping out either with the run or with donations of water please contact Kathy Deame or Abigail Monahan. We need all the help we can get to cheer for the kids as they run and manage the organization of the event.
With Sincere Thanks,
Abigail Monahan
