DOVER, NH — Celebrating the sweet sounds of the season, the Lower School students at Portsmouth Christian Academy at Dover presented their annual holiday concert Dec. 7. The theme for this year’s concert was “Christmas Around the World.” Combining the talents of over 230 students from Kindergarten through grade 5, the performers entertained an audience of families, staff, and friends who filled the gymnasium to capacity.
The diverse program included each grade performing two songs which celebrated Christmas in cultures that span the globe. The Lower School band, chorus, and orchestra have been preparing for this show for over a month. One highlight of the evening included the audience participating in an uplifting singalong to “Joy to the World.”
Head of School, Brian Bell explained, “The music program has grown to a new level this year.” He credits Carroll and Susie Stevens and John Macleod, all new music faculty members, for the continued growth of the program. “They brought great musicality to PCA and have built on the strong foundation our program has enjoyed in recent years.”
“Everyone certainly was in the Christmas spirit this evening,” claimed Laura Lupinacci, PCA parent. “These students are very knowledgeable and I am amazed with the talent that was exhibited here tonight.”
