DOVER, NH — The preschool teachers at Portsmouth Christian Academy were serving up more than just their daily lesson plans yesterday. The entire class of 4 and 5-year-olds were treated to a morning of holiday themed crafts and a complete Thanksgiving meal with all the familiar dishes. Parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff shared in this traditional feast set aside to thank God for the blessings he provides for us.
Morning activities began with five creative stations: mixed media leaf placemats, colorful Indian corn prints, harvest pasta necklaces, turkey handprint paintings, and Pin the Feather on the Turkey game. After they worked up an appetite, students sat at large tables while parents served up the familiar turkey dinner with all the fixings.
“This was a time of celebration,” stated Kelly Leavitt, PCA Director of Preschool. “We are thankful to have such a wonderful group of parents and volunteers who graciously provided the food for this event and helped guide the students through the craft stations. This event was the perfect way to end their studies on the history and significance of this holiday.”
