Getting their spirit on — PCA students prepare for Homecoming Week 10/4/10

DOVER, NH — Each year, Portsmouth Christian Academy at Dover students follow an established school-pride guide to being spirit-filled for Homecoming Week. Tuesday, Oct. 5 marks the official kick-off. It is a formal procedure for the high school students to display their school spirit in accordance with the suggested outfits of each day. Dress themes include Clash Day, Decades Day, Super Hero/Famous Character Day, and School Colors Day. Students compete daily in friendly class challenges and are judged for the most spirit. During Friday’s pep rally, the class with the most points is announced and will receive a “jeans day” and pizza luncheon.

Among the line-up for other activities are Penny Wars, a Friday lunch pep rally, a Homecoming tailgate barbeque, and an evening bonfire (for current Upper School students and alumni) to culminate the week-long celebration. Homecoming Week gives students a chance to create long-lasting relationships and to engage in fun, spirit-building activities.

Athletic events scheduled for the week include:
Tuesday:  J.V. Volleyball vs. Prospect Mt. at 5pm; Varsity Volleyball vs. Prospect Mt. at 6pm
Thursday:  Cross Country Meet at 4:30pm
Friday:  Boys’ Varsity Soccer vs. Farmington at 4pm; J.V. Volleyball vs. Farmington at 5pm; Varsity Volleyball vs. Farmington at 6pm

Portsmouth Christian Academy is located at 20 Seaborne Drive, Dover, NH. Directions to the school can be found on its website, www.pcaschool.org. For more information, please call 603-742-3617.
