PCA Presents “The Curious Savage” – a Comedy About Family, Money, and Greed 11/1/10

DOVER, NH — Portsmouth Christian Academy’s Theatre presents “The Curious Savage” Friday Nov. 12, 7 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Written by Pulitzer-winning playwright John Patrick and directed by Grace Thorsen, “The Curious Savage” is a light, funny, satirical play that serves as a gentle reminder to stop and think about more fanciful things like hopes and dreams.

The eccentric Ethel Savage is committed to an “institution” by her greedy stepchildren, in the hopes of taking her fortune that was meant to help others realize their dreams. There she meets a variety of hilarious social misfits, all needing exactly the kind of help Mrs. Savage can provide and who eventually appear to be more sane than those outside the walls of the institution. This heartwarming story that reminds us to fearlessly follow our dreams, what havoc greed can play on our lives, and what it means to be a true family.
